Mid Life Mates Privacy Policy
Mid Life Mates offers services to help you meet people that you might wish to get to know a little better. Given that purpose, you will necessarily be providing some personal information to us in order to enable us to provide those services. We will only use this information in the course of providing Mid Life Mates services to you. We are firmly committed to protecting your privacy. We will not release any of your personal information to anyone without your consent (subject to the very limited exception noted below). This Privacy Policy explains how we protect your personal information.
Personal Information you will have to provide
When you register with/ join Mid Life Mates, you will be asked for some personal information in order to become a member, which includes, but is not limited to your name, gender, age, email address, city and country of residence.
The information posted in a profile is publicly viewable and you, the user, should not enter sensitive data or anything you are not comfortable with disclosing to the public. Mid Life Mates is not responsible for the content of anyone’s profile.
You will also be asked to provide your credit card information in order to pay your membership fees, when you decide to “subscribe”, (which allows you full access to all communications tools), which of course we will keep confidential and protect by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts the information that you input.
All of your personal information data is kept in a highly secure environment, accessible only by authorized Mid Life Mates employees who are trained in and subject to strict confidentiality standards and practices. Your information is protected from access by unauthorized parties.
Your Profile
Once you decide to register/ join, you will be asked to create a non-identifying personal profile for use on our website, which can include a username, password and personal description. For the profile, you will be asked to provide personal but non-identifying information, such as your height, body type, race, religion, hobbies, interests, whether you smoke, whether you have dependants, etc.
This information is not linked in any way to your personally identifiable information.
However, if you choose provide Mid Life Mates with a photograph or video of you for use on our website as part of your profile, which may allow another person who knows you or knows of you to connect your profile with the picture/video, and thereby to identify you.
If, based on your profile, we are asked by another member or visitor for your identifying information, we cannot and will not provide any such information.
Your Responsibilities
If you contact a member, or a another member contacts you, by email or instant messaging based on the information in their profile or yours, it is entirely up to you what information you provide. Of course, be sensible and cautious.
It is important for you to protect yourself and us against unauthorized access to your account, by keeping your password secret, and by taking measures to prevent others from accessing your account on the computer that you are using. Ensure that you logoff when you are finished visiting our website, especially if you are using a shared computer at home, work, a cyber-cafe or a library.
Updating your Personal Information
You can access and update your Mid Life Mates profile by going to “edit profile” located on your “member home page.”

What Information do we share?
As we make clear in this policy, we will not disclose any of your personal information without your consent. However, from time to time we may share aggregated demographic information regarding our members with our advertisers, advisors and other. None this shared information contains any information that could be used to identify any individual person.

Our website contains links to some other websites. Please be aware that Mid Life Mates is not responsible for the privacy practices of other organizations or websites. We encourage our members to be aware when they leave our site, and to read the privacy statements of each website that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by Mid Life Mates.

Cookies are small pieces of information that are stored in a browser-related file on your computer's hard drive when you use our website. We use cookies to improve the member experience, like allowing the member to login without typing the registered email address or registration number and password. We also use them to deliver information and fresh content specific to your interests. Cookies are widely used on most major websites and are not in any way tied to a member’s personal information.
Disclosure under Legal Process
In the very unlikely event that we receive a demand for a member’s personal information from a legal authority or other party which has the proper legal authorization to do so - such as a search warrant or court order - we would have to disclose it. In such an event, we would advise the member of the disclosure unless we were prevented from doing so as part of the demand.
If Mid Life Mates is Sold
Like any business, it is possible that another company might purchase Mid Life Mates. If that were to happen, all of your personal information and profile information would be transferred to the new company – but only if the new company has a privacy policy providing substantially the same protections to you, and agrees to protect your information under that policy. We will treat this information in the Policy, and your registration having accepted the Policy and other terms, as your consent to such a disclosure.
